Dear Children,
Be still, and quiet for a moment. For I have something of great importance to impart to you...
There is a dangerous creature in this world. Its name is the Werelier.
He is a fearsome and grizzly thing. his fur is as black as pitch, and has teeth sharper than knives. His claws are long and dig deep into the earth, and he is stronger than ten thousand men.
But what makes the Werelier most deadly...
Is his voice
...
For the Werelier has a sweet voice,
and he speaks in whispers.
The Werelier thrives in the deepest and darkest of places, for it is there that his true nature is not seen. He stalks the shadows for the young and old. With his sweetest whisper he tells them "Come closer, and I will help you find the light" and those who dare venture too close to the sound of the voice are devoured.
But fear not children...
the Werelier has but one weakness.
an enemy, who chases him away.
This Defender dwells in the light,
and the darkness cannot touch him.
It is the Defender that the Werelier fears most. For the light reveals his beastly form. Just as a beam of light reveals a spider in its web, so the light reveals the wereliers trap.
So cling close, my children, to the Defender whom you know. And when darkness comes, do not forsake him for the sweet sound of treacherous whispers.
